Types

The type management enables standardized classification of inventories. A type consolidates recurring properties and thus simplifies the creation and management of similar devices.

What is a Type?

A type describes a unique combination of:

  • Manufacturer
  • Model

Alternatively, combinations such as Measurement Range + Accuracy are also possible (e.g., for physical measuring instruments).

Additionally, a type can contain the following information:

  • Measuring instrument descriptions
  • Test standards
  • Test tasks
  • Prices
  • Test procedures (procedure templates)
  • Specifications (manual or via ACC import)

Type Overview

The type overview can be accessed via Inventory --> Manage Types.

The overview contains the following columns (configurable via field management):

  • Type Name
  • Device Type (e.g., Electrical, Physical)
  • Manufacturer / Category
  • Model / Measurement Range + Accuracy
  • Measuring Instrument Description
  • Article Number
  • Test Standard
  • Test Task

Grid Actions

The following functions are available via the action menu of each row:

  • Inventory List: Displays all devices assigned to this type.
  • View: Opens the type detail view.
  • Edit: Edits the type information.
  • Delete: Deletes the type, provided no inventory is linked.
