Measurement Results

The measurement results document the actual measured values of a calibration. They are assigned to test steps and form the basis for the calibration assessment.

Overview

Measurement results are recorded during the calibration execution and contain all relevant measurement data, uncertainties, and assessments for each test step.

Columns

Column Description
Row Number (Row) Sequential number of the measurement point.
Description (Test Desc) Description of the measurement point from the test step.
Target Value (Fix/Var Q) Fixed or variable target value with prefix and unit.
Lower Limit Lower tolerance limit.
Upper Limit Upper tolerance limit.
Measured Value (Measurement) Actual measured value with prefix and unit.
Deviation (Error) Difference between the measured value and the target value.
Status (Pass/Fail) Assessment of the measurement point (passed / not passed).
Expanded Uncertainty Expanded measurement uncertainty with coverage factor.
Standard Uncertainty Standard uncertainty of the measurement.

Additional Fields

Depending on the configuration, additional fields may be available:

Field Description
Nominal Nominal value of the reference.
System Value (Sys Actual) Actual system value.
UUT Display (UUT Ind) Displayed quantity on the unit under test.
Expected Value (ExpV) Theoretically expected value.
Coverage Factor (Cov Fac) Coverage factor of the measurement uncertainty (typically k=2).
Tolerance neg./pos. Negative and positive tolerance limits.
Guardband Guardband limits (Upper/Lower).
Remark Free-text field for supplementary notes.

Typical Workflows

  • Result Recording: During calibration, the measured values are entered into the results table. New measurement results can be created manually or automatically via test steps.
  • Automatic Assessment: The system calculates deviations and compares them with the tolerance limits to determine the Pass/Fail status.
  • Database Import: Measurement results can be imported from an external database or MET/TEAM.
  • Export: Measurement results can be exported as a calibration report or certificate attachment.
  • Procedure Templates: Results can be imported and pre-structured via procedure files (Excel).

Technical Notes

Units

All numeric fields support SI prefixes (e.g., mV, kOhm) and physical units. Fields with the suffix _p contain the prefix, _u the unit.

Result Integrity

Saved measurement results are part of the calibration documentation. Changes are logged in the audit trail and should only be made by authorized personnel.

  • Measurement results are uniquely referenceable via the calibration (CTAG) and the inventory (MTAG).
  • The column display is configurable via the field management.
  • Deleting measurement results requires the inventory_details_calibrations_measurements_delete permission.
